What is Keratoconus?

Keratoconus is a progressive eye disease in which the normal regular shape cornea begins to thin and to bulge into a cone-like shape, which makes the cornea irregular and causes distortion of the light passing the cornea to the sensitive retina.

Corneal Cross Linking (CCL)

As Keratoconus is a progressive eye disease the most important part of the treatment plan is to stop the progression of the disease.

Corneal cross linking is a minimally invasive procedure that uses ultraviolet light and eye drops in order to strengthen the collagen fibers in the cornea to stop the progression.
